Transportation Secretary Announces Investment in Nationwide Road Improvements

The department awards funding to 148 local construction projects across the country.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg recently announced that a collective $1.8 billion will fund the completion of 148 local road improvements, including projects in Alaska, Maine, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, California, Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. This investment will be distributed through the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant program, which has distributed $7.2 billion to over 550 projects nationwide thus far.

Secretary Pete Buttigieg said, “Through President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we’re funding projects across the country to make roads safer, make it easier for people to move around their community, make transportation infrastructure more resilient to extreme weather, and improve supply chains to keep costs down for consumers.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Buttigieg to be prudent as he oversees the awarding of federal funds for infrastructure projects.
  • For discernment for U.S. transportation officials as they evaluate highway improvement needs under the RAISE program.
